We recently picked up our 1 year old dog from K9 and we could not be happier with the experience and outcome. David was extremely clear and communicative leading up to training. Gina was fantastic throughout the whole training process and kept in touch even though we were needy about wanting to know how our pup was doing. Most of all, we’re so impressed with the behavioral and confidence improvements we’ve seen in our pup! She’s so much more focused on us and obedient. Before training, we couldn’t walk on a leash without her pulling the whole time and panicking every time another human or dog walked by. Now we can walk down the street, tell her to lie down and stay with tons of distractions around, and she is so much more calm and focused the whole time. Our life is better already and she seems so much less anxious. Totally worth the money and I wish we’d gone for it earlier! Thank you Innovative K9!

The first thing I want to say to David and Sean at Innovative K9 Academy is Thank You! I bought two puppies at the beginning of the year and at six months they were fun but had lots of energy! They were jumping up on everyone, barking at the fence as neighbors walked by, digging in the back yard and tying me up in their leashes when we would try to take them on walks. It was starting to get frustrating for me and I didn’t have a lot of time to train them. I searched online and found Innovative K9 Academy. I did some research and after talking on the phone with David I knew I had found the right person to entrust my pets to for training. David answered all of my questions and was informative , helpful and friendly. We sent our dogs to his three week boot camp and when we picked them up it was AMAZING what they had been able to teach them. They learned sit, down, stay, heel, bed, crate, quiet, come, ‘leave it’ and no. My dogs no longer barked as people walked by and they are well behaved and I can take them on walks and they stay to my left and don’t pull. I constantly get compliments and praise when I take them out in public and people ask me how they are so good, especially when I tell them they are not quite a year old yet. I can take them into Pet Smart or Cal Ranch and tell them ‘down’ and ‘stay’ and actually walk away from them to get something off the shelf and they won’t move until I tell them. I plan to take my dogs back to finish the off leash training and I would recommend Innovative K9 Academy to anyone. Absolutely worth every penny!!!

We brought our 2 boxers to David because of leash aggression and dog aggression. Zoiee is 9 and Toby is 7. We thought it would be hard to teach an old dog new tricks. That was not the case. We no longer worry about our dogs showing aggressive behavior towards other dogs. We can walk them off leash with no problems. David was great to work with. He definitely has a great personality for this type of work. He was always available when we had any questions or if we needed any follow up training. We couldn't be happier. Thanks David!

We sent our 1 year old golden retriever, Jazi, to Innovative K9 Academy based on 2 other positive recommendations. We were after some general obedience and training so we signed her up with David for the 3 week course. She came back to us healthy, confident, happy and obedient! Where she once jumped on everybody who came into our home (she's 70+lbs of puppy love), we can now place her on her bed and she stays until she's calm and we release her. She no longer pulls my arm out of socket when I walk her because she knows how to heel, really well! And when we call her to "come", she does! I know some folks are concerned about the collars. However, David uses them in a positive manner that doesn't adversely effect their spirit. He stopped by for a follow up appointment recently, and Jazi couldn't get to him fast enough....she LOVES him rather than fears. She didn't demonstrate an ounce of fear towards him. In fact, since she's reintegrated into the home, we hardly ever need to use it because she listens so well! If you are looking for a trainer and want results, we HIGHLY recommend David at IK9A! We took our dogs Callie and galleta to k9 academy for boot camp a couple months ago. Prior to the boot camp, they barked at every little noise, jumped all over guests when they came in our house, and constantly pulled hard on their leashes on walks. They also would never listen when off leash and were out of control. After 5 weeks at k9 they are completely different creatures now...they are obedient, constantly wait for a command before doing anything, they never bark anymore, they don't pull on the leash, and they can be off leash on walks and stay right by our sides without running off. They also stay on their bed when guests knock on our door instead of jumping all over everybody that comes in our house. I will also say that we previously tried different dog training companies that came to our house, but didn't see much benefits from those other trainers. K9 has been the only company that truly transformed our dogs. Our friends have been amazed at how obedient they are now!

I am 1,000% satisfied by my experience with Innovative. The first month of having my puppy it was painful! I was stressed because she seemed to constantly be making mischief, and it damaged our relationship because I felt like I was always punishing her. Looking back I just had no idea how to manage her or even to get her to focus. So I decided to get us some professional help. I chose Innovative K9 based pretty much solely on Yelp and Google reviews. Lucky for me, it turns out that the trainers are total masters. They train dogs for serious competitions too. We did a puppy boot camp for two weeks and the 6 classes. I learned so much! The first month of having her did not need to be painful at all, I just didn't know what I was doing. Now, after training, me and my puppers communicate extremely well. she's obedient, sweet, and never ceases to wow me. I'm actually kind of a fan of Innovative K9 now- I follow them on Instagram and it makes me want to get another dog!

I am so happy I found innovative K9 academy. I have done their dream dog training and boarded with them multiple times. 10/10 would recommend. I am a really anxious dog dad and so I researched pretty much every dog trainer in northern Utah. Innovative K9 academy is the best by a long shot. Thank you so much guys.

Our two year old staffy Lucius went to Innovative K9 for training. He left our house a wild naughty dog and now that he's home, he's a celebrity! Everyone wants to hang out with Lucius because he's such a good boy. Morning walks are a dream instead of something I dread. He is confident, secure and obedient. Things that used to make him go berserk (like a dog walking past our house) is now a non-issue as he sits obediently by my feet as cool as ever. It's amazing. Three weeks feels like a long time in the moment, (Lucius ended up being four) but put your trust in David and you'll be amazed at the results.

David is an excellent trainer. My two labradoodles completed his 3 week boot camp in October 2014. It was nice to have them learning while I was out of town, instead of just boarding somewhere. I have to admit that I have been terrible about follow-up training. But even so, more than a year later, they still remember the commands and walk nicely on leash!
